International Soccer

There are a few sports sims for the C64 and all quite good, including this soccer game. As far as I can remember this is the only soccer game  – if not it would be certainly the best.

Released in 1983, it is a six-a-side game where you can play against a human or AI component. The game is realistic and many different actions are available. There is a nice ceremony at the end if you win (I won’t spoil it for you!).

The game plays in two 200 seconds halves, and for you purists there is no offside rule in the game. You can pick sides for the colours, and there is a grey scale option in the game should your monitor not siplay colours properly.

It is a very playable game, something you won’t play just once. I had (still have) it on cartridge and even on my SX64, it was a good game to keep me interested.

CHEATS:

As far as I know there was only one ‘cheat’. You had the ability to continuously bounce the ball on your head and just walk into the opponents goal…. and score. There was no way to defend against that.
